5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect ball for me, May 24, 2011

I don't play enough to get my handicap that low, but I know what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing and occasionally pull it off. In short, I can make birdies, and I can make triples, but at least the snowman is usually a once- or twice-a-season occurrence.

The Pro V1 is a great ball, but it spins too damn much! Yes, it's nice to back a ball off the green, but that's not really the point of the game. The Nike ball seems to have just enough to stop a mid- or long iron on the green, but won't pull the ball back 15 feet on a wedge, like the Pro V1 is liable to do. But I don't think the Nike loses anything to the Titleist in feel around the green. Maybe I can't make a short pitch stop dead as I could with the Pro V1, but hey, I chipped one in from 35 feet last Saturday, so I ain't complaining about the feel.

If you make good contact and want feel around the green, but the Pro V1 spins a bit too much for you, try the Nike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all around golf balls, October 17, 2010

These balls have come along ways since Nike started making golf balls. These are designed for someone with a low handicap. If you are looking for a ball with lots of spin and workability this is your ball, it is very comparible to the Pro V1. If you are a high handicap this ball with not help you as you will just be losing really expensive balls, a good ball for the high handicapper is the Nike Soft2 or Mojos.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much spin., December 11, 2010

Nike really did a fantastic job with the 2010 ball lineup. However the One Tour for me spins just too much. I only purchased one sleeve to try them out and I cannot even count how many wedge shots zipped back off the green. Sure you could say flight the ball lower, hit it softer and take some spin off it. But you know your game and what shots you are comfortable with at different times. 99% of the time I like to go after the ball, throw a dart at the pin and expect it to stay put. Which is exactly what the One Tour D does. For my money thats the ball to play. For someone needing more spin I would definitely recommend these, but if you already generate decent spin with your wedges and short irons I would point you towards the One Tour D. Which easily rivals the Pro V1x for about 33% less.
